The beautiful male stonechat. This is the partner of the female stonechat from my April image of the month. He is perched very proud atop the gorse bushes keeping a watchful eye on his fledged chicks. The chicks fledged one by one safely under the cover of the gorse bushes. Which presented more opportunities to capture the adults birds in amongst the gorse which was in full bloom by this time, an absolute glorious sight.
