This is my story so far

Born and raised in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.  I have always had an interest in wildlife and I take great pleasure from observing their behaviour in the wild.

It was only when I picked up a camera for the first time that I truly realised the diverse landscape and rich wildlife that inhabits the area where I live.

My aim is to capture images of the wildlife that inhabits the rugged and harsh environment that is found in the north of Scotland. I also want to capture landscape images of the areas that the wildlife inhabit.

I attempt to capture behaviour and movement of wildlife as they are seldom ever still and a lot of patience and perseverance is required for this.  With the experience I have gained over the years from observing the wildlife’s behaviour this has then allowed me to almost anticipate their next move to get a great image.

I also capture video of the wildlife as I find this can be a better way to portray the animals behaviour rather than a still image   Time lapse video is also an excellent way to capture a dramatic moment in time, which has been great fun and diversifying is a good way to keep my interest fresh and present my work in an innovative way.

The majority of my work is taken in one of my favourite locations, the Cairngorms National Park.

I have had some success in the British Wildlife Photography Awards, with a winning image in the Habitat category and a highly commended image in the Behaviour category in 2013.  I had another image highly commended in the Behaviour category in 2014.
