Awaiting Autumn’s Crescendo
This forest is filled with beech trees, one of my favourite species for autumn colour. On this visit, I was exploring possible compositions to return to once the leaves had fully transformed into their rich copper tones. Already, a scattering of fallen leaves lay across the foreground, hinting at the season’s progression, though much of the canopy was still waiting to turn.
Timing is everything when it comes to capturing peak autumn colour. There needs to be just the right balance, enough leaves changed to create depth and vibrancy, yet plenty still clinging to the branches to frame the scene. I’ll be returning in a few weeks to see how the forest has evolved, hoping to catch it at its most spectacular.
