IMAGE OF THE MONTH

SEPTEMBER 2019

All Grown Up

I was keen to see how fluffball was progressing and made a number of trips back to see him.  By now he was no longer a fluffball as he had lost almost all of his down feathers and had grown considerably in size.  All that was left of his down was a streak down the back of his neck that gave the appearance of a mohican.

Comparing to the image from a few weeks previous you will see that the nest has almost vanished.  Apart from the excellent point of view this location also benefits from the evening light and on this occasion the warm light completely transformed the chicks feathers.
