Horizons of Freedom — Chasing the Twilight on the Peaks

This panoramic image of Cùl Mòr, captured from the slopes of Stac Pollaidh with the drone, is one that feels especially personal to me. The Highlands have a way of holding memories in their contours, and this view is a reminder of the people who helped shape the paths we chose and the horizons we chased.

Waiting for the light to break with my friends and fellow photographers, Chris and Graeme, was a joy in itself. Their company always makes the steep haul worthwhile, and sharing that anticipation on the ridge is something I treasure. As the sun began to sink, the landscape shifted into that soft, golden twilight that feels almost suspended in time. Cùl Mòr glowed gently under the fading light, the lochs below reflecting the last warmth of the day.

This view is more than a photograph. It’s a reflection of past adventures, shared motivation, and the quiet gratitude that comes from moments that change how we see the world. The universe has a way of delivering perfect light when we’re patient and this evening was one of those gifts.

A beautiful night of type‑2 fun, and a reminder that freedom often lives on the horizon.
