Double Pot of Gold
I have photographed Arkle from Loch Stack a number of times over the years but I never quite got the weather conditions I was hoping for with the autumn colour. This day as we were driving towards Arkle we could see the weatherfront moving in ahead of us. So it was a case of getting in position quickly and waiting to see what the weather would produce. Needless to say when I saw the double rainbow appear, with the moody clouds veiled over Arkle, I knew this was the shot I had been hoping for.
Arkle is much lesser known than the neighbouring, Foinaven, Arkle has a fine, curving ridge of shattered quartzite and is a fasinating hill to me visually. On the wish list of mountains to climb next year. I look forward to experiencing the views from the top.
