Puffin with nesting material

Puffins have had a pretty hard time this breeding season.  With an exceptional amount of rain this spring, summer, the puffins have to ensure their burrows don’t get washed out or collapse leaving the puffling trapped behind earth.  This little puffin was digging out its burrow again and relaying it with fresh, dry nesting material.  They are so trusting and curious, this little puffin was only a matter of feet away from me.
