Winter Light

Findhorn Valley, Scotland

Description

The Findhorn Valley is very beautiful and I love capturing it’s beauty.  I made the climb to this location as I love the view of the river making it’s way down the valley.  Conditions were cold but bright and the clouds were moving fast so the light was in and out.  There was fresh snowfall which gave enough definition to the hills. I wanted to capture the wider view taking in all of the mountains to the left and right of me so meant capturing a panorama.  Because I was standing in heather, soft snow and a steep slope I opted to take it handheld rather than set up the tripod.   The light just broke through at the right moment and I knew I had my shot.
