Waiting

Glen Affric, Scotland

Description

I had actually gone to Glen Affric to photograph the autumn colour.  There was recent heavy rain in the area so the lochs were full and areas had flooded.  So this brought the dippers out and of course I had my wildlife kit with me aswell so landscapes were abandoned and I went in pursuit of this obliging dipper.

It was fascinating to watch him move between new perches created by the flooding.  I visited the area the following year for landscapes and had a look to see if the dipper was about but the water had gone back to it’s normal level but I did see it further down near the bridge it nest’s in.
