Sea Thrift

Troup Head, East Coast, Scotland

Description

On this visit to Troup Head the sea thrift was out in full bloom.  It was like a sea of pink as I approached the cliffs.  So I just had to capture this stunning sight and incorporate it into the landscape.  I was walking along the coastline seeking out compositions when I noticed this fulmar was enjoying flying high in the thermals.  So I knew then I wanted to capture the bird in the landscape.  I composed my image and then just waited for the fulmar to soar into the correct part of the image before taking my shot.
