IMAGE OF THE MONTH
OCTOBER 2021
Enchanted Forest
It has been a real challenge to capture autumn colour in the Scottish Highlands this year. With the unseasonably warm weather, it is about two weeks later than you would normally expect in October. I was checking out locations hoping for favourable conditions and I could not believe so many trees had still to turn at the end of October. But strangely, some silver birch dropped their leaves before they even had a chance to change colour. Beech Trees were mostly still green, but with the November rains, wind and flat light, autumn will pass us by without a glorious display.
I always love this location, and this year I opted for a panoramic image, taking in the bridge with more of the surrounding area and the carpet of golden brown leaves.
