Crestie in snow

Inverness-shire, Scotland

Description

This image was taken in a new location where the light is good throughout the day in the winter months.  There was a heavy snowfall overnight and forecast of good weather the following day so that was the decision made on what I would be trying to photograph.  So I got to the site nice and early and as always the cresties are first on the go.  Although it was late winter there was heat in the sun and the snow was quickly melting, so I had to be very quick to capture my image between the snow melting and the birds knocking the snow off the tree.
