Calling

Description

This image was taken in late summer when the ptarmigan are still in large groups.  I stumbled across a group in amongst the boulder fields, so they were going to make me work hard to get my images.  The family would spread out and constantly keep on the move eating the heather as they went along, they were in constant contact with each other never straying too far from one another.  This male was calling out when another male came into their territory.
