Euphoria!

Ever since I photographed a snow capped Stac Pollaidh from Loch Cul Dromannan on a beautiful winter sunrise in 2010. I have wanted to climb to the top to take in the views.  It is such a prominent peak in Assynt.

After 2010 my photography moved over predominantly to wildlife but the desire never left me for capturing landscapes.

Fast forward 13 years and an opportunity presented itself to climb to the top with a friend that is starting out on his journey to climb the Scottish Mountains.  The weather was better than I had expected and we got eaten alive with the midges in the car park.  Undeterred we proceeded up the hill. We did the scramble to the top and the clouds remained above the summits to reward us with breathtaking panorama views over to the Summer Isles, Cul Beg, Cul Mor and Beinn an Eoin.  Needless to say we were both euphoric.  For Gary it has inspired him to continue climbing the Scottish Hills and for me that I had achieved something I had wanted to do for a very long time.  I will be back up again very soon in the autumn.
