Chiffchaff Calling

Near Inverness, Scotland

Description

This image was taken at another wildlife site I have been working on with an abundance of heather.  It has been attracting the red squirrel, cresties, great spotted woodpecker and all the other forest birds. On one session I was patiently sitting in the hide and just outside the hide this little Chiffchaff appeared.  I had been hearing it’s call when visiting the site to fill the feeders but had not seen it on the feeders.  I did not want to move my lens abruptly to spook it but thankfully as the Leica lens is small it did not notice my movement.  It was trying to find insects in the holly tree and stayed a few seconds to allow me to capture a few images.
