Jump!

This lone purple sandpiper was mixing with the turnstones, foraging for food at the waters edge.   A series of big waves were crashing into the boulder which the purple sandpiper had leapt onto.   I knew I did not have much time before the bird would fly off as the waves were too ferocious for it to remain on the rock.   This was the shot I was hoping to capture; the bird leaping over the incoming waves.
