Sheltering

Cairngorms National Park, Scotland

Description

It was forecast for snow in the hills so I thought I would give the mountain hare a go to try for something a bit different.  After walking some time in search of hare as they are more difficult to spot in the snow I came across this obliging one.  I sat and waited to let it settle down with me sitting nearby and it was fine with me.  I opted for a low down perspective which meant lying down in the wet snow.  But you have to always be prepared when heading into the mountains so I am always dressed appropriately so as to not get cold or wet and carry sufficient spare clothes, food and hot drinks which then allows me to stay out as long as possible in snowy conditions.
